Dear Colleagues It is evident that an increasing number of individuals are
studying the processes of abscission and dehiscence in plants. Much of this
interest is being fuelled by research on mutants and transgenic plants and
as a consequence we are now beginning to understand how the
differentiation of abscission and dehiscence zones maybe regulated and
the events that lead to cell separation. Our belief is that as an increasing
number of mutant lines and molecular tools become available significant
benefit could accrue to the community if there was a mechanism to
facilitate the exchange of information, ideas, research strategies and
material. With this aim in mind we have launched this Website that  focuses
exclusively on research in the abscission and dehiscence field. Our intention
is to maintain this at Nottingham and update it on a regular basis using
material submitted by colleagues who are undertaking work in these areas.
As the site evolves we would hope that it would carry information about
material available to members of the community, advertisements for PhD
and postdoctoral positions, details of conferences, a notice boards for
discussions, poster presentations etc.
