NASCArrays is the Nottingham Arabidopsis Stock Centre's microarray database. The database contains a wide selection of microarray data from Affymetrix genechips. Currently most of the data is for Arabidopsis thaliana experiments run by the NASC Affymetrix Facility. There are also experiments from other species, and experiments run by other centres too.
To navigate around this website, use the orange menus at the top of every page. "start again" will always bring you back to this page. To get the most out of this website, why not follow the tutorial (available from the "tutorial" link at the top of this page). Full documentation for all of the features on the website is available from the "help" section.
If you want to get large amounts of data from the database, you
need AffyWatch! Affywatch is a CD subscription service, that for
£50 will allow you quick access to all of the data on this
website.
For more information on NASC's Affymetrix service, you can visit our Affymetrix site by choosing Affymetrix site from the orange menu at the top, or by using Help.
There are three main ways into the data:
1) SearchExperiment SearchYou can search for keywords to help you identify experiments you might be interested in. Hints
Slide Search |
2) Use a data-mining toolThere are currently four data mining tools available. All of these tools allow you to type in a gene(s) of interest, and identify experiments or slides that you might be interested in. Click on the links to use.
|
3) TreeviewThe treeview allows you to browse the list of experiments. We have categorised all the experiments using various criteria. To work the treeview, click on the categories. The branches below will expand, showing you all of the experiments in that category. To visit an experiment you are interested in, click on the link and you will be taken to a page about that experiment. One experiment can appear under more than one branch of the tree.
